ARCH Triad Moms

Thinking of Homeschooling your Catholic family in the Piedmont Triad area?

Already homeschooling but looking for a true Catholic support? We might have an answer to your prayers!! First Friday devotions, Feast Day celebrations, Rosary, Academic Co-ops, Field trips and more! We are happy to provide you with some information about, ARCH of the Triad, our very active Catholic Homeschool Support and Activity Group here in the Piedmont area. This is the place you can connect with other homeschoolers without hiding your light under a bushel!
Our activities are not affiliated with one particular Catholic Parish in the Charlotte Diocese. Rather we are all encouraged as families to be actively involved in our individual parishes, and we are grateful to local parishes who are willing to offer their spaces for our group gatherings.

We are support, not a "school". ARCH activities support your homeschool curriculum with activities that are spiritual, social, educational, and sometimes athletic. We are not a SCHOOL. We can help you find information about curriculum and we can even direct you to the co-op classes in our area but joining our group is not like enrolling in an umbrella school in some other states.

Our activities do not take the place of sacramental prep done through your individual parish or at home. We support your parish and home teachings.

First and Foremost Educator

"Since parents have conferred life on their children, they have a most solemn obligation to educate their offspring. Hence, parents must be acknowledged as the first and foremost educators of their children. Their role as educators is so decisive that scarcely anything can compensate for their failure in it. For it devolves on parents to create a family atmosphere so animated with love and reverence for God and others that a well-rounded personal and social development will be fostered among children. Hence, the family is the first school of those social virtues which every society needs." --Gravissimum Educationis

GOALS

1) To strengthen our Catholic families.

2) To promote and encourage Catholic values.

3) To foster Catholic vocations.

4) To teach the traditions and history of the Roman Catholic Church.

5) To promote devotion to the Blessed Mother.

MISSION

ARCH, Association of Roman Catholic Homeschoolers, is a support group for Roman Catholic homeschoolers. The mission of ARCH is to promote homeschooling among Catholic families and to support those families who are engaged in providing their children’s education at home. The foundation of ARCH activities and functions is fidelity to the teachings of the Roman Catholic Church including its Bishops in union with Rome. With the support of our fellow members, we will grow, serve, love and learn in our Catholic Faith.

INSPIRATION

The Triad area has many Catholic Homeschoolers and the numbers have grown over the years. To promote unity, to utilize the many talents of our families, and to help those moving into the area, this chapter was formed. In addition to the above mentioned goals, we have found inspiration in the book Haystack Full of Needles by Alice Gunther, as we found her ideas to be spiritual, purposeful, and fun! As we researched a little further we found ARCH-Raleigh/Cary and they graciously helped us establish this sister chapter.
